Indications

• Symptomatic relief of upper respiratory tract disorders
• Productive cough relief
• Nasal decongestant administration
• Histamine H1 receptor antagonist administration
• Expectorant combination benefits

Pharmacology

• Pseudoephedrine as decongestant and bronchodilator
• Vasoconstriction via adrenergic receptor stimulation
• Increased heart rate and contractility
• Guaifenesin as expectorant
• Reduction of sputum viscosity
• Increased hydration of respiratory tract
• Triprolidine as antihistamine
• Symptomatic relief of hypersensitivity reactions

Dosage & Administration

• 10 ml (2 teaspoonful) three times a day for adults and children over 12 years
• 5 ml (1 teaspoonful) three times a day for children 6-12 years
• 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoonful) three times a day for children 2-5 years
• Physician's advice preferred for children under 2 years

Interaction

• Concomitant use with sympathomimetic agents
• Potential rise in blood pressure
• Partial reversal of hypotensive action of certain drugs

Contraindications

• Known hypersensitivity to constituents
• Cardiovascular disease including hypertension
• Lower respiratory symptoms including asthma
• Monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) therapy
