- 98-99% plasma protein binding
- Metabolized in the liver
- Traces of unchanged drug excreted in urine

Dosage & Administration
- Oral administration for anxiety, insomnia, and in children

Interaction
- Contraindicated with alcohol
- Increased sedation with concomitant use of neuroleptics, hypnotics, and CNS depressants
- Enhanced clearance with phonobarbitone
- Decreased clearance with cimetidine
- Inhibition of metabolism by omeprazole and isoniazide
