Dosage
- Average dosage for outpatient therapy: 1.5-3 mg up to three times daily
- Severe cases dosage: 6-12 mg 2 or 3 times daily (up to 8-12 weeks)
- Lower doses for elderly and debilitated patients
- Adjustable dose for children based on body weight

Interaction
- Enhanced sedative effects when combined with other centrally active drugs
- Possible prolonged elimination half-life when co-administered with cimetidine
- Avoid concomitant intake with alcohol
