Description
- Lexopil 6mg Tablets are indicated for emotional disturbances, functional disturbances in the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, disturbances in the gastrointestinal and urinary tracts, psychosomatic disorder, emotional reactions to chronic organic disease, irritable bowel syndrome, psychogenic headache, asthma, gastric and duodenal ulcer, and more
Dosage
- Standard dosage: 1.5-3mg up to three times daily for outpatient therapy, 6-12mg 2 or 3 times daily for severe cases, lower doses for elderly and debilitated patients, and adjusted dose for children based on bodyweight

Pharmacology
- Powerful psychotropic agent, selectively reduces tension and anxiety, sedative and muscle-relaxant properties, binds to GABA-A receptor producing inhibitory effects
Interaction
- Enhancement of sedative effects if combined with other centrally active drugs like antidepressants, hypnotics, narcotics, antipsychotics, sedatives, antiepileptic drugs, sedative antihistamines, anesthetics, and alcohol
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to bromazepam, severe respiratory insufficiency, severe hepatic insufficiency, sleep apnea syndrome
Side Effects
- Fatigue, drowsiness, muscle weakness, reduced alertness, confusion, headache, ataxia, anterograde amnesia
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Safety not established during pregnancy, excreted in breast milk, use should be avoided during lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- May lead to physical and psychological dependence, greater risk in predisposed patients with alcohol history, withdrawal symptoms upon termination, not recommended for primary treatment of sleeplessness caused by psychotic illness, caution while driving or using machinery
