Pharmacology
- Powerful psychotropic agent

Dosage
- Standard dosage of 1.5-3 mg up to three times daily for outpatient therapy
- Dosage of 6-12 mg 2 or 3 times daily in severe cases especially in hospital
- Treatment duration of 8-12 weeks
- Lower doses for elderly and debilitated patients
- Adjustment of dose for children based on bodyweight

- Enhanced sedative effects when combined with other centrally active drugs
- Enhanced sedative effect with alcohol
- Prolonged eliminiation half-life with cimetidine co-administration
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to bromazepam
- Severe respiratory insufficiency
- Severe hepatic insufficiency
- Sleep apnea syndrome
