Dosage
- Standard dosage 1.5-3 mg up to three times daily
- Severe cases dosage 6-12 mg 2 or 3 times daily for up to 8-12 weeks
- Elderly and debilitated patients require lower doses
- Children dosage adjusted to low body weight

Interaction
- Enhanced sedative effects when combined with other centrally active drugs
- Prolonged elimination half-life when co-administered with cimetidine
- Avoid concomitant intake with alcohol
