Dosage
- General Dosage: Adjusted to indication, severity of condition, and clinical response
- Treatment of Anxiety States:
- Adults and Adolescents over 15 years:
- Initial dose: 20 mg daily
- Maximum daily dose: 30 mg
- Elderly: Maintenance dose of 10 to 15 mg daily
- Children from 3 to 15 years: Daily dose of 5 to 10 mg
- Adults and Adolescents over 15 years:
- Treatment of Epilepsy:
- Adults and Adolescents over 15 years: Administer at small doses, gradually increase to a maximum daily dose of about 80 mg
Administration
- Administer whole or crushed and mixed in applesauce
- 10 mg tablets are divisible into equal halves of 5 mg
- Can be taken with or without food

Binds to distinct binding sites at GABA receptors, enhancing the inhibitory effect of GABA

Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to clobazam or any excipients

- Children between 6 months and 3 years

Precautions & Warnings
- Serious Skin Reactions: Reported cases of Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis
- Respiratory Depression: Possible especially in high doses
- Muscle Weakness: Can cause muscle weakness
- Renal and Hepatic Impairment: Increased susceptibility to adverse effects
- Elderly Patients: Increased risk of fall and serious injury
- Tolerance in Epilepsy: Consideration for decrease in anticonvulsant efficacy
- CYP2C19 Poor Metabolizers: Expected increase in active metabolite levels
- Suicidality: Increased incidence of suicidal behavior in certain patients
- Concomitant use of CYP2C19 inhibitors: Possible increased adverse effects
