- Dizziness
- Dry mouth
- Withdrawal symptoms
- Elevations in serum triglyceride levels
- Elevations in total cholesterol
- Decreases in HDL cholesterol
- Weight gain
- Decreased haemoglobin
- Extrapyramidal symptoms
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Safety and efficacy during human pregnancy not established
- Use during pregnancy if benefits justify potential risks
- Lowest possible dose and duration of treatment during pregnancy
- Excretion into human milk is unknown
- Avoid breastfeeding while taking Quetiapine
Precautions & Warnings
- Suicidal thoughts or clinical worsening
- Use with caution in patients with known cardiovascular disease
- Use with caution in patients with cerebrovascular disease
- Use with caution in patients predisposing to hypotension
- Caution when treating patients with a history of seizures
- Consider dose reduction or discontinuation if tardive dyskinesia appears
- Discontinue and provide appropriate medical treatment for Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome
- Exercise caution in patients with cardiovascular disease or family history of QT prolongation
- Rare reports of severe neutropenia
- Observation of blood glucose levels and occasional reports of diabetes
- Use with caution in the elderly
- Not indicated for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age
Use in Special Populations

- Slower rate of dose titration and lower daily therapeutic dose in the elderly

Overdose Effects
- Survival reported in acute overdoses
- No specific antidote
- Consider multiple drug involvement in severe intoxication

- Treatment of refractory hypotension with appropriate measures
