Indications
- Acute and chronic psychoses
- Mania

Pharmacology
- Selective monoaminergic antagonist
- High affinity for serotoninergic 5-HT2 and dopaminergic D2 receptors
- Binds to alpha1 adrenergic receptors
- Central serotonin and dopamine antagonism
Dosage & Administration
- Initial dose of 2 mg in 1-2 divided doses
- Usual dose range 4-6 mg daily
- Elderly or hepatic/renal impairment: initially 1 mg daily
Interaction
- Antagonizes effects of levodopa and dopamine agonists
- Reduces plasma clearance when taken with Carbamazepine
- May enhance effects of certain antihypertensives

- Known hypersensitivity to the product
