Interaction
- Metabolism affected by CYP1A2 and CYP2D6 isozymes
- Inhibited by fluvoxamine, cimetidine, and quinolone antimicrobials
- Concomitant use with potent CYP2D6 inhibitors may increase concentrations
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to Duloxetine or inactive ingredients
- Not approved for treating bipolar depression
- Not for patients with substantial alcohol use or chronic liver disease
- Use cautiously in patients with controlled narrow-angle glaucoma

Precautions & Warnings
- Patients treated with antidepressants should be monitored for clinical worsening and suicidality

- Use cautiously in patients with a history of mania or seizure disorder
Use in Special Populations
- Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients not established
Overdose Effects
- Limited clinical experience with overdose in humans
- No specific antidote
- Treatment should consist of general measures for overdose management
- Emesis induction not recommended
- Gastric lavage with appropriate airway protection may be indicated if performed soon after ingestion or in symptomatic patients
- Activated charcoal may be useful in limiting absorption
