Description
Tranquilizer and antidepressant effective for anxiety and depression without drug dependence
Pharmacology
- Nortriptyline Hydrochloride: Tricyclic antidepressant inhibiting norepinephrine and serotonin uptake
- Fluphenazine: Tranquilizer acting as a neuroleptic drug through dopamine receptor antagonism
Dosage & Administration
One tablet 2 to 3 times daily for adults
Interaction
Caution with barbiturates, alcohol, and narcotic drugs due to potential interactions
Contraindications
- History of gradual epilepsy or organic brain damage
- Blood dyscrasia
- Severe cardiac insufficiency
- Renal or liver damage
- Patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI)
- Younger children
- Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation
