Pharmacology

Dosage & Administration
- Usual adult dose: 15-30mg three times daily
- Children's dose: Half of adult dose
- Motion sickness dose: 30mg 2 hours before journey, then 15mg every 8 hours
- Peripheral arterial diseases dose: 75mg 2-3 times daily
Interaction
- No drug interactions with antihypertensives
- No drug interactions with diuretics
- No drug interactions with anticoagulants
- No drug interactions with hypoglycaemics
Contraindications
- No specific contraindications
- Caution in hypotensive patients due to blood pressure decrease
Side Effects
- Rare somnolence
- Rare gastrointestinal disturbances
- Transient effects
- Allergic skin reactions reported
- Fatigue reported on rare occasions
- Extrapyramidal symptoms extremely rare in elderly
- Treatment reduction in case of extrapyramidal symptoms
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Safety not established in human pregnancy
- No teratogenic effects in animal studies
- Not advisable to administer in pregnancy
