Pharmacology
- Actions:
- Antihistamine
- Labyrinthine sedative
- Peripheral antivasoconstrictor
- Mechanism of Action: Selective calcium antagonist, inhibiting the influx of Ca2+ intracellularly
Dosage & Administration
- Usual Adult Dose: 15 to 30 mg three times daily
- Children's Dose (5 to 12 years): Half of the adult dose
- Motion Sickness Dose: 30 mg two hours before the journey, then 15 mg every 8 hours during the journey
- Peripheral Arterial Disease Dose: 75 mg two or three times daily
Interaction
No drug interactions observed with antihypertensives, diuretics, anticoagulants, or hypoglycaemics
Contraindications
No specific contraindications, caution in hypotensive patients
