Description
Cinazin tablets are used for the treatment of nausea and vertigo, prevention of motion sickness, and the management of various vascular disorders. It acts as an antihistamine, labyrinthine sedative, and a peripheral antivasoconstrictor.
Indications
- Symptomatic treatment of nausea and vertigo
- Prevention and treatment of motion sickness
- Management of various vascular disorders
Dosage & Administration
- Usual adult dose: 15 to 30 mg three times daily
- Children (5 to 12 years): Half of the adult dose
- Motion sickness: 30 mg two hours before the journey and 15 mg every 8 hours during the journey
- Peripheral arterial diseases: 75 mg two or three times daily
Mode of Action
Cinnarizine acts as an antihistamine, labyrinthine sedative, and a peripheral antivasoconstrictor. It is a selective calcium antagonist, inhibiting the influx of Ca2+ intracellularly.
Pharmacology
Cinazin's actions in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease are due to its anti-vasoconstrictor properties, its action on blood hyperviscosity, and its anti-ischaemic effect.
Interactions
No drug interactions have been seen with Cinazin when administered concomitantly with antihypertensives, diuretics, anticoagulants, or hypoglycaemics.
Contraindications
There are no specific contraindications, but the drug should be used with caution in hypotensive patients.

Pregnancy & Lactation
The safety of Cinnarizine in human pregnancy has not been established. Administration in pregnancy is not advisable.
