Indications
- Symptomatic treatment of nausea and vertigo

Description
Actions in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease, anti-vasoconstrictor properties, action on blood hyperviscosity, anti-ischaemic effect
Pharmacology
- Antihistamine
- Labyrinthine sedative
- Peripheral antivasoconstrictor
- Selective calcium antagonist
- Inhibition of Ca^2+ influx into smooth muscle cells
Dosage & Administration
- Usual adult dose: 15 to 30 mg three times daily
- Children (5 to 12 years): Half of the adult dose
- Motion sickness dose: 30 mg two hours before journey and 15 mg every 8 hours during journey
- Peripheral arterial diseases dose: 75 mg two or three times daily
Interaction
No interactions with antihypertensives, diuretics, anticoagulants, or hypoglycaemics
Contraindications
- No specific contraindications
- Use with caution in hypotensive patients
Side Effects
- Rare side effects like somnolence, gastrointestinal disturbances, allergic skin reactions, fatigue
- Aggravation or appearance of extrapyramidal symptoms in elderly during prolonged therapy
Pregnancy & Lactation
Safety in human pregnancy not established, not advisable in pregnancy

- May cause drowsiness
- Avoid driving, operating machinery, and alcoholic drinks
