Indications

Pharmacology
- Piperazine-derivative antihistamine
- Antiemetic
- Anticholinergic properties
- Antihistaminic properties
- Reduced sensitivity of labyrinthine apparatus
Dosage & Administration
- Dosage for adults and children 12 years of age & over
- 25-50 mg daily for nausea and vomiting
- Initial dose of 25-50 mg for motion sickness
- 50 mg for radiation sickness administered 2-12 hours prior to treatment
- 25-100 mg daily for vertigo
- Preventative use for nausea and vomiting associated with emergency contraceptive pill (ECP)
Interaction
- Potentiated effects with Ethanol or other CNS depressant agents
- Potentiated effects with Benzodiazepines, Barbiturates, Tricyclic antidepressants, opiate agonists, skeletal muscle relaxants, antihistamines
- Anticholinergics interaction
- Increased absorption of digoxin
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Meclizine Hydrochloride and Pyridoxine Hydrochloride

Overdose Effects
- Symptoms of extreme excitability, seizures, drowsiness, hallucinations
- Treatment includes supportive and symptomatic measures
- Consideration of dialysis
