Indications
- Relief of symptoms in adults with acute and recurrent diabetic gastroparesis

Pharmacology
- Dopamine-2 (D2) antagonist
- Blocks serotonin receptors in chemoreceptor trigger zone of CNS
- Enhances the response to acetylcholine in the upper GI tract
- Enhanced motility and accelerated gastric emptying without stimulating gastric, biliary, or pancreatic secretions
- Increases lower esophageal sphincter tone
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dosage for adults less than 65 years of age
- Recommended dosage for adults 65 years of age and older
- Continuous and intermittent administration for Gastroesophageal Reflux
- Dosage for Acute and Recurrent Diabetic Gastroparesis
- Dosage for the Relief of Symptoms Associated with Diabetic Gastroparesis
- Dosage for the Prevention of Nausea and Vomiting Associated with Emetogenic Cancer Chemotherapy

Contraindications
- History of tardive dyskinesia (TD) or a dystonic reaction
- Stimulation of gastrointestinal motility might be dangerous
- Pheochromocytoma or other catecholamine-releasing paragangliomas
- Epilepsy
- Hypersensitivity to metoclopramide

Precautions & Warnings
- Avoid concomitant use of other drugs known to cause TD/EPS/NMS
- Avoid use in patients with Parkinson’s Disease

- Avoid use in depression and suicidal ideation/suicide
