Indications
- Prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with initial and repeat courses of emetogenic cancer chemotherapy
- Prevention and treatment of post-operative nausea and vomiting
- Prevention of radiotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting
Dosage
- Different dosages for adults, pediatric and geriatric patients for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting

Route of Administration
Oral soluble film to be dissolved on the tongue and then swallowed with saliva
Active Ingredient
Anset base, the racemic form of Anset, a selective blocking agent of the serotonin 5-HT3 receptor type
Mode of Action
Blocks the initiation of vomiting reflex by antagonism of 5HT3 receptors on neurons located both in the peripheral and central nervous system
Interaction
Metabolized by hepatic cytochrome P-450 drug-metabolizing enzymes, may be affected by inducers or inhibitors
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug or any of its components, concomitant use of apomorphine
Side Effects
- Frequently reported adverse events including headache, constipation, and diarrhea
- Rare cases of anaphylaxis, bronchospasm, tachycardia, angina, shortness of breath
Pregnancy & Lactation
No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, caution advised for nursing women
Precautions & Warnings
- Hypersensitivity reactions reported in patients who exhibited hypersensitivity to other selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonists
- Should not be used instead of nasogastric suction
- May mask a progressive ileus and/or gastric distension
Special Populations
- Dosage adjustment for patients with impaired renal function
- Dosage adjustment for patients with impaired hepatic function
- Limited information available about dosage in pediatric patients 4 years of age or younger
