Description
- Orally dissolving film designed to be applied on top of the tongue
- Dissolves within 20 seconds

Dosage

Mode of Action
- Selective blocking agent of the serotonin 5-HT3 receptor type
- Blocks 5HT3 receptors located in peripheral and central nervous system
Administration
- Designed to be dissolved on top of the tongue
- Does not require water for dissolution or swallowing
Interactions
- Metabolized by hepatic cytochrome P-450 drug-metabolizing enzymes
- May interact with inducers or inhibitors of these enzymes
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the drug or any components
- Concomitant use of apomorphine
Side Effects
- Reported adverse events include headache, constipation, diarrhea, and rash
- Rare cases of anaphylaxis, bronchospasm, tachycardia, and hypokalemia reported
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Requires caution when administered to nursing women
Precautions & Warnings
- Hypersensitivity reactions reported in patients with hypersensitivity to other 5-HT3 receptor antagonists
- Should not be used instead of nasogastric suction
- May mask a progressive ileus and/or gastric distension

- Same dosage recommendation for patients with impaired renal function
- Specific dosage recommendation for patients with severe hepatic impairment
