Indications
- Acute and delayed nausea and vomiting
- Uncontrolled nausea and vomiting
- Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV)
- Radiotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (RINV)
- Post-operative & Post-discharge nausea and vomiting (PONV & PDNV)
Pharmacology
- 5-HT3 receptor antagonist
- Strong binding affinity for 5-HT3 receptor
- Little or no affinity for other receptors
- Inhibition of serotonin actions
- Linear dose-proportional pharmacokinetics
- Metabolism via kidney and liver enzymes
Dosage & Administration
- Usual adult tablet dosage of 0.5 mg daily
- Usual adult IV dosage of 0.075 mg over 10 seconds
- Specific dosages for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, radiotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, and post-operative nausea and vomiting
- Children dosage based on body weight
- Maximum children dose of 1.5 mg
Interaction
- Safely administered with corticosteroids, analgesics, antiemetics
- No inhibition of antitumor activity of specific chemotherapeutic agents
- No significant pharmacokinetic interactions with metoclopramide
- Low potential for clinically significant drug interactions

- Hypersensitivity to the drug or any of its components
