Description
- Effective in treating panic disorder

- Suppresses paroxysmal activity including spike and wave discharge in absence seizures
- Caution required in coadministration with valproic acid
- May increase the incidence of generalized tonic-clonic seizures in certain patient populations
- Caution required in use with patients with open angle glaucoma
- Frequently causes CNS depression
- May lead to drowsiness, ataxia, behavior problems, abnormal eye movements, aphonia, coma, tremor, vertigo, confusion, depression, amnesia, hallucinations, hysteria, increased libido, insomnia, psychosis, and palpitations
- Possible teratogenic effects during pregnancy
- Active ingredient may pass into maternal milk
