  • Treatment of panic disorder
  • Treatment of Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome
  • Treatment of petit mal variant
  • Treatment of akinetic and myoclonic seizures

Dosage & Administration

  • Initial adult dose not to exceed 1.5 mg/day divided into 3 doses for seizure disorders
  • Initial adult dose for panic disorder is 0.25 mg
  • Pediatric dose based on body weight or age
  • Dosage adjustments based on response
  • Maximum recommended daily dose is 20 mg

Interaction

  • No alteration of phenytoin, carbamazepine, or phenobarbital pharmacokinetics
  • Effect on metabolism of other drugs not investigated

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines
  • Clinical or biochemical evidence of significant liver disease
  • Contraindicated in acute narrow angle glaucoma
