Description
- Treatment of panic disorder with or without agoraphobia
- Treatment as an adjunct for Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, akinetic and myoclonic seizures
- Indicated for patients with absence seizures
- Pharmacological properties include anticonvulsive, sedative, muscle relaxing, and anxiolytic effects
- Enhancement of GABAergic neurotransmission at inhibitory synapses
- Effect on serotonin levels in animals
- Suppresses various types of paroxysmal activity in seizures
- Initial adult dose for seizure disorders should not exceed 1.5 mg/day
- Initial adult dose for panic disorder is 0.25 mg
