Description
Xioclon 0.5 mg Tablet is indicated for the treatment of panic disorder, with or without agoraphobia, and as an adjunct in the treatment of the Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, akinetic and myoclonic seizures. It exhibits anticonvulsive, sedative, muscle relaxing, and anxiolytic effects.

Pharmacology
- Enhancement of GABAergic neurotransmission
- Effect on serotonin
- Suppression of paroxysmal activity
Dosage and administration
- Initial dose for adults with seizure disorder not to exceed 1.5 mg/day
- Initial dose for adults with panic disorder is 0.25 mg
- Dosage for pediatric patients
Interaction
- No known alteration of the pharmacokinetics of certain drugs
Contraindications
- History of hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines
- Clinical or biochemical evidence of significant liver disease
- Contradicted in acute narrow angle glaucoma

Overdose effects
- Symptoms include drowsiness, ataxia, dysarthria, and nystagmus
- Severe CNS depression may require the use of flumazenil
