Indications

  • treatment of partial-onset seizures

Dosage

  • recommended starting dose of 250 mg twice daily
  • initial therapeutic dose of 500 mg twice daily
  • maximum dose of 1500 mg twice daily
  • dose adjustment for renal impairment
  • oral solution for infants and children under 6 years

Administration

  • flm-coated tablets
  • taken orally with or without food
  • administered in two equally divided doses

Interaction

  • no influence on serum concentrations of existing antiepileptic medicinal products
  • concomitant administration with probenecid and methotrexate
  • decreased efficacy with osmotic laxative macrogol
  • absorption not altered by food
  • no data on interaction with alcohol

Contraindications

  • hypersensitivity to the active substance or other pyrrolidone derivatives
