Mode of Action

Acid neutralizing properties of Aluminium Hydroxide and Magnesium Hydroxide
Antiflatulent action of Simethicone
Relief of ulcer by neutralizing gastric acid
Spreading on the surface of aqueous liquids
Formation of film of low surface tension
Excretion of the drug unchanged in the feces

Dosage & Administration

1-2 tablets 1-3 hours after meal
1-2 tablets at bedtime
1-2 teaspoonful of suspension 1-3 hours after meal
1-2 teaspoonful of suspension at bedtime
As directed by the physician

Interaction

Effects on the rate and/or extent of absorption of oral drugs
Increase or decrease in bioavailability of concomitantly administered oral drugs
Drug interaction with theophyline, tetracycline, quinolone antibiotics, isoniazide, ketoconazole, and others
Bioavailability changes with sulphonamides, levodopa, valproic acid, enteric coated aspirin, and others

Contraindications

Renal failure
Hypophosphataemia
Severe debilitation
Alkalosis
Hypermagnesaemia
Abdominal distention due to intestinal obstruction
