Description
Neurega is indicated for neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN), postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), fibromyalgia, neuropathic pain associated with spinal cord injury, and adjunctive therapy for the treatment of partial-onset seizures.

Pharmacology
Pregabalin is a structural derivative of the inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and binds with high affinity to the alpha2-delta site in central nervous system tissues.
Dosage
Dosage varies for different conditions, with maximum recommended doses for adults and dosing adjustment based on efficacy and tolerability.
Administration
- Route of administration: Oral route, with or without food for Pregabalin, after an evening meal for Pregabalin CR tablet. Swallowed whole, not split, crushed, or chewed.
- Discontinuation guidelines: Gradual tapering over a minimum of 1 week when discontinuing both Pregabalin and Pregabalin CR

Contraindications

May cause reduced consciousness, depression/anxiety, confusional state, agitation, restlessness, seizures, heart block. No specific antidote.
