Composition

  • Tablet:
    • Dried Aluminium Hydroxide Gel BP (Al2O3, 47% minimum): 425.53 mg
    • Magnesium Hydroxide BP: 400 mg
    • Simethicone USP: 30 mg
  • 5 ml Suspension:
    • Aluminium Oxide: 200 mg
    • Magnesium Hydroxide: 400 mg
    • Simethicone USP: 30 mg

Pharmacology

  • Non-systemic acid neutralizing substances mixture
  • Antiflatulent with long action
  • Neutralizes gastric acid secreted from parietal cells
  • Relief of ulcer
  • Antifoam properties of Simethicone
  • Physiologically inert with no interference in gastric secretion or nutrient absorption

Dosage & Administration

  • Tablet dosage: 1-2 tablets 1-3 hours after meal and at bedtime or as directed by physician
  • Suspension dosage: 1-2 teaspoonful 1-3 hours after meal and at bedtime or as directed by physician

Interaction

  • May increase or decrease drug absorption rates
  • Decreases bioavailability of theophyline, tetracycline, quinolone antibiotics, etc.
  • Increases bioavailability of sulphonamides, levodopa, valproic acid, etc.

Contraindications

  • Patients with renal failure or hypophosphataemia
  • Severely debilitated patients
  • Alkalosis and hypermagnesaemia
  • Partial or complete intestinal obstruction

Side Effects

  • Uncommon gastrointestinal side effects
  • Possible diarrhea, constipation, or regurgitation with excessive consumption

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Avoid in first trimester of pregnancy

  • Use with caution in patients with kidney disease
