Description
- Prelin is a medicine indicated for neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, fibromyalgia, and neuropathic pain associated with spinal cord injury. It is also used as adjunctive therapy for the treatment of partial-onset seizures in patients 1 month of age and older.
Dosage
- Recommended dosage for different indications: 100 mg three times a day for DPN, 75 to 150 mg two times a day or 50 to 100 mg three times a day for PHN, 300 to 450 mg/day for fibromyalgia, and 150 to 600 mg/day for neuropathic pain associated with spinal cord injury.
RouteOfAdministration
- Oral route for Pregabalin; CR tablet should be administered after an evening meal.

- Unlikely to be involved in significant pharmacokinetic drug interactions.
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Pregabalin or any of its components.
SideEffects
- Common side effects include dizziness, somnolence, dry mouth, edema, blurred vision, weight gain, difficulty with concentration/attention, increased weight, and increased appetite in pediatric patients.

- No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women; small amounts detected in the milk of lactating women.

- Angioedema, hypersensitivity reactions, increased risk of suicidal thoughts or behavior, respiratory depression, impaired ability to drive or operate machinery, increased seizure frequency upon rapid discontinuation, and peripheral edema.
