Pharmacology

  • Non-systemic acid neutralizing
  • Long-lasting action
  • Relief of ulcer by neutralizing gastric acid
  • Antifoam properties of simethicone
  • Relief of flatulence and meteorism
  • Physiologically inert

Dosage & Administration

  • Tablet: 1-2 tablets 1-3 hours after meal
  • Suspension: 1-2 teaspoonful 1-3 hours after meal

Interaction

  • Antacids may affect drug absorption
  • Increase or decrease bioavailability of concomitantly administered oral drugs

Contraindications

  • Patients with renal failure
  • Patients with hypophosphataemia
  • Patients with severe debilitation
  • Alkalosis and hypermagnesaemia
  • Patients with abdominal distention due to partial or complete intestinal obstruction

Side Effects

  • Occasional gastrointestinal side effects
  • Possible diarrhea, constipation, or regurgitation

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Avoid in the first trimester of pregnancy
