Description

Topmate tablets are indicated for monotherapy and adjunctive therapy for epilepsy in adults and children aged 6 years and above with generalised tonic-clonic seizures or partial seizures. It is also indicated for the prophylaxis of migraine headache in adults with frequent attacks. Topmate exerts pharmacological actions on seizures and migraines by stimulating GABA-A receptor activity and reducing glutamate activity.

Dosage & Administration

  • Epilepsy Monotherapy:
    • Adults and children over 16 years: 25-400 mg/day
    • Children aged 6-16 years: 3-16 mg/kg/day
  • Epilepsy Adjunctive Therapy:
    • Adults and children over 16 years: 200-800 mg/day
    • Children aged 2-16 years: 5-9 mg/kg/day
  • Migraine:
    • Adults and children over 16 years: 50-100 mg/day
