Composition

  • Dried Aluminium Hydroxide Gel BP (Al2O3, 47% minimum): 425.53 mg
  • Magnesium Hydroxide BP: 400 mg
  • Simethicone USP: 30 mg
  • Aluminium Oxide (Equivalent amount of Aluminium Hydroxide Gel USP): 200 mg
  • Magnesium Hydroxide (Equivalent amount of Magnesium Hydroxide Paste USP): 400 mg

Pharmacology

  • Non-systemic acid neutralizing substances
  • Antiflatulent
  • Reliable and long-acting
  • Induces relief of ulcer by neutralizing gastric acid
  • Uses simethicone's antifoam properties
  • Physiologically inert; not absorbed from the GI tract
  • Excreted unchanged in the feces

Dosage & Administration

  • Tablet: 1-2 tablets 1-3 hours after meal and at bedtime or as directed
  • Suspension: 1-2 teaspoonful 1-3 hours after meal and at bedtime or as directed

Interaction

  • May increase or decrease rate/extent of absorption of concomitantly administered oral drugs
  • Decreases bioavailability of various drugs
  • Increases bioavailability of some drugs

Contraindications

  • Patients with renal failure
  • Patients with hypophosphataemia
  • Patients who are severely debilitated
  • Alkalosis
  • Hypermagnesaemia
  • Abdominal distention due to partial or complete intestinal obstruction

Side Effects

  • Occasional gastrointestinal side effects
  • Excessive consumption may lead to diarrhea, constipation, or regurgitation

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Avoid in the first trimester of pregnancy

  • Use with caution in patients with kidney disease
