Description

Composition

• Dried Aluminium Hydroxide Gel
• Magnesium Hydroxide
• Simethicone

Dosage

• Tablet dosage: 1-2 tablets 1-3 hours after meal and at bedtime
• Suspension dosage: 1-2 teaspoonful 1-3 hours after meal and at bedtime

Indications

• Peptic ulcer relief
• Gastritis relief
• Prevention of stress ulceration
• Relief from heartburn and sour stomach
• Relief from hiatus hernia symptoms
• Antiflatulent for gas pain relief

Mode of Action

• Acid neutralizing properties of Aluminium Hydroxide and Magnesium Hydroxide
• Antifoam properties of Simethicone
• Relief of flatulence and meteorism

Interactions

• May affect absorption of oral drugs
• Decrease bioavailability of theophylline, tetracycline, quinolone antibiotics
• Increase bioavailability of sulphonamides, levodopa

Contraindications

• Renal failure
• Hypophosphataemia
• Alkalosis
• Hypermagnesaemia
• Severe debilitation

Side Effects

• Occasional gastrointestinal side effects (diarrhea, constipation, regurgitation) with excessive consumption

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Avoid in the first trimester of pregnancy

• Use with caution in patients with kidney disease
