Description
- Adjunct to diet and exercise for noninsulin dependent diabetes mellitus
- Can be used in combination with metformin or insulin
- Stimulates insulin release from pancreatic beta cells
- Decreases blood glucose concentration
- Reduces basal hepatic glucose production
- Increases peripheral tissue sensitivity to insulin
- Facilitates glucose uptake
- Extended hypoglycaemic action for 24 hours
- Individualized dosage based on glucose levels
- Dosage titration for metabolic control
- Initial dose of 1 mg once daily
- Dose range of 1 to 4 mg daily
