Description
- Secrin tablet is a sulfonylurea antidiabetic agent that helps lower blood glucose levels in patients with noninsulin-dependent (Type II) diabetes mellitus.

Indications
- Adjunct to diet and exercise for patients with NIDDM

Mode of Action
- Stimulates insulin release from pancreatic beta cells
- Improves sensitivity of beta cells to glucose stimulus
Dosage Instructions
- Initial dose of 1mg once daily
- Dose titration at intervals of 1 to 2 weeks
- Usual dose range of 1 to 4mg daily

- Tablet must be swallowed with sufficient liquid
Interactions
- Potentiation and attenuation interactions with various drugs
- Increased risk of hypoglycemia with certain medications
Contraindications
- Not suitable for type I diabetes
