Indications
- Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults

Pharmacology
Biguanide type oral antihyperglycemic drug used in the management of type 2 diabetes.
Dosage & Administration
- Metformin immediate release tablet:
- Individualized dosage based on effectiveness and tolerance
- Dosage increases in increments
- Metformin extended release tablet:
- Swallow whole, do not crush or chew
- Dosing increments for adults
- Not studied in children
- Dosage adjustments for renal impaired patients
Interaction

Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to active substance or excipients
