Description

Amboral is indicated for productive cough, acute and chronic inflammatory disorders of upper and lower respiratory tracts, inflammatory diseases of the rhinopharyngeal tract, asthmatic bronchitis, bronchiectasis, and chronic pneumonia. It improves sputum rheology, liquefies mucus, stimulates production of surfactant, reduces bronchial hyperactivity, and has anti-inflammatory properties. It should be administered cautiously in patients with certain medical conditions and stored in specific conditions.

Mode of Action

  • Greater bronchosecretolytic effect than bromhexine
  • Improves sputum rheology
  • Hydrating mechanism for liquefaction of mucus
  • Stimulates production of phospholipids of surfactant by alveolar cells

Interaction

Contraindications
