Dosage
Linagliptin 5 mg once daily
Administration
Can be taken with or without a meal at any time of the day
Pharmacological Action
Inhibitor of DPP-4 enzyme, increases active incretin hormone concentrations, stimulates insulin release, and decreases glucagon secretion
Interaction with CYP3A4
Weak competitive and weak to moderate mechanism-based inhibitor
Interaction with Other Drugs
- No clinically relevant effect on the pharmacokinetics of metformin, glyburide, simvastatin, warfarin, digoxin, or oral contraceptives
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or excipients

- Cough
- Pancreatitis in combination with metformin and sulfonylurea
