Dosage & Administration
- 50 mg daily for monotherapy
- 50 mg twice daily with Metformin or Thiazolidinedione
- 50 mg once daily with Sulphonylurea
- May be taken with or without a meal
- No dosage adjustment in elderly
- No dosage adjustment in mild renal impairment
Interaction
- No interactions with specified drugs
- Potential reduction in glucose-lowering effect by certain substances
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to active substance
- Moderate to severe renal impairment
- Hepatic impairment
- Type 1 diabetes

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Not to be used in pregnancy

Precautions & Warnings
- Caution in patients aged 75 years and older
- Monitoring of liver function tests (LFTs) recommended
- Transaminase level monitoring
- Discontinuation if liver abnormalities persist
- Caution in congestive heart failure patients
- Not to be used in patients with NYHA functional class III IV
