Indications
- Adjunct to diet and exercise for type II diabetes
- Monotherapy for glycaemic control
- Combination therapy with other antidiabetic agents
Pharmacology
- Thiazolidinediones class
- Dependent on Insulin for mechanism of action
- Decreases Insulin resistance
- Improves abnormality in lipid metabolism
Dosage & Administration
- Once daily dosing
- Can be taken without regard to meals
- Individualized management of antidiabetic therapy
- Initiation at 15 mg or 30 mg
- Maximum recommended daily dose of 45 mg
Interaction
- Reduces plasma concentration of oral contraceptive hormones

- Hypersensitivity to any components

Pregnancy & Lactation
