Indications
- Relief of occasional constipation
Pharmacology
- Glycerin hyperosmotic laxative
- Produces bowel movement within 15 minutes to 1 hour
- Encourages bowel movements by drawing water into the bowel
- Produces a softer stool mass and increases bowel action
Dosage & Administration
- Dosage for children under 2 years as directed by the physician
- Dosage for children (2 to 6 years) - 1 Glycerin 1.15 Suppository per day or as directed by physician
- Dosage for adults and children (6 years and above) - 1 Glycerin 2.30 Suppository per day or as directed by physician
- Instructions for inserting suppository into the rectum
Contraindications
- Sensitivity to the ingredients
- Should not be used unless the patient is constipated
Side Effects
- Rectal discomfort
- Burning sensation when used rectally
