Indications

Interaction
- May impair vit B12 absorption
- Increased plasma levels with strong CYP2C8 inhibitors
- Decreased plasma levels with CYP2C8 inducers
- Reduced metabolism with cationic drugs eliminated by renal tubular secretion
Contraindications
- Renal disease or dysfunction
- Known hypersensitivity to components
- Acute or chronic metabolic acidosis including diabetic ketoacidosis
Side Effects
- Common side effects: upper respiratory tract infection, diarrhea, peripheral edema, headache

- Potential risk to fetus in pregnancy
- Not recommended for breastfeeding women

- Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis
