Indications
- Relief of occasional constipation
Pharmacology
- Glycerin is a hyperosmotic laxative
- Produces bowel movement within 15 minutes to 1 hour
- Encourages bowel movements by drawing water into the bowel
Dosage & Administration
- Specific dosages for children under 2 years, 2 to 6 years, and adults/children over 6 years
- Instructions for insertion into the rectum
- Laxative action not dependent on complete melting
Contraindications
- Sensitivity to the ingredients
- Not to be Used if patient is not constipated
