Pharmacologic Mechanism
- Sitagliptin: Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor
- Metformin HCl: Decreases hepatic glucose production, decreases intestinal absorption of glucose, increases peripheral glucose uptake

Drug Interaction
- Cationic Drugs: Use with caution in drugs eliminated by renal tubular secretion
