Indications
- Control of severe or incapacitating allergic conditions

Dosage & Administration
- Oral dosages for adult patients: 1 mg to 10 mg daily
- Oral dosages for children: 0.03-0.20 mg/kg body weight
- Variation in dosages based on individual response
- Use of dexamethasone suppression test
- Intravenous, intramuscular, and local injection administration
- Dosage adjustment for systemic therapy in adults
- Recommended doses for intra-articular, intrabursal, and tendon sheath injections
Interaction
- Diuretics and/or cardiac glycosides
- Antidiabetics
- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
- Oral anti-coagulants
- Less effectiveness with liver enzyme inducing drugs
- Concomitant use with salicylates
- Potential interaction with antacids
Contraindications
- Gastric and duodenal ulcers
- Systemic and ophthalmic fungal infections
- Viral infections such as varicella and herpes genitalis infections
- Glaucoma
- Hypersensitivity to corticosteroids
