Indications
- Treatment of rheumatic disorders like psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis

Pharmacology
- Synthetic adrenocortical drug with predominantly glucocorticoid properties
- Inhibits the action of Phospholipase A2 enzyme responsible for production of inflammatory mediators

- Metabolized mainly in the liver and excreted in the urine

Interaction
- Reduction of efficacy by Aminoglutethimide, Antacids, Barbiturates, Carbamazepine, and other medications
- Reduced potassium levels in the blood by Cortisol
- Potential cardiac arrhythmias with hypokalemia and Digitalis use

- Systemic infections without specific anti-infective therapy
