Description
- Danzol is a medication used in the treatment of endometriosis, benign breast disease, menorrhagia, gynecomastia, and preoperative thinning of the endometrium before hysteroscopic endometrial ablation.

Pharmacology
- Gonadotropin inhibitor
- Suppresses pituitary-ovarian axis
- Reduces ovarian estrogen production
- Suppresses ovarian function
- Affects breast tissue steroid receptor sites
- Corrects biochemical deficiency in hereditary angioedema
Dosage & Administration
- Up to 4 divided doses per day
- Treatment start during menstruation
- Different doses for different conditions
- Not used in children
Interaction
- Increased insulin resistance
- Potential interactions with estrogens and progestogens
- Affects plasma concentration of certain medications
- Can oppose the action of antihypertensive agents
- Can increase the plasma concentration of cyclosporine
