Indications
- Erectile Dysfunction (ED)
- Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)
- Both Erectile Dysfunction and BPH
Pharmacology
Selective phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. Increases cGMP in smooth muscle cells, causing smooth muscle relaxation, increased blood flow into the corpus cavernosum, and improved voiding.
Dosage & Administration
- Erectile Dysfunction: Recommended starting dose is 10 mg. The dose may be increased to 20 mg or decreased to 5 mg. Effective for up to 36 hours.
- Benign prostatic hyperplasia: Recommended dose is 5 mg taken daily.
- Combined Erectile Dysfunction and Benign prostatic hyperplasia: Recommended dose is 5 mg daily.
Interaction
May interact with Nitrates, Alpha adrenergic blockers, Antihypertensives, Alcohol, Ketoconazole, Ritonavir, Erythromycin, Itraconazole, Grapefruit juice, Rifampin, Carbamazepine, Phenytoin & Phenobarbital.

Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy category B. Recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk. Caution when administering to nursing women.
Precautions & Warnings
Angina, renal impairment, hepatic impairment, bleeding concomitant with Nitrates, Alpha Blockers, Alcohol, CYP3A4 Inhibitors, other PDE5 inhibitors.
