Indications

Description
- Emergency contraceptive for women
- Should not be taken as a regular birth control pill
Mode of Action
- Suppresses gonadotropins
- Inhibits ovulation
- Slows release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone
Administration
- Oral use
- Taken with a glass of water
Interaction
- Simultaneous administration with anticonvulsant agents can reduce effectiveness
- Interaction with rifampicin and griseofulvin
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to levonorgestrel or any of the excipients

- Dizziness, fatigue, headache
- Abdominal pain
- Breast tenderness
- Bleeding after taking the medicine
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Not indicated in case of pre-existing pregnancy
- Not for interrupting pregnancy
