Indications
- Treatment of mild to moderately severe bacterial infections
- Infections of ear, nose, and throat regions
- Infections of lower respiratory tract

Pharmacology
- Absorbed from upper part of small intestine
- Best absorbed in potassium salt form
- Convenient for treating Gram-positive infections
- Resistant to inactivation by gastric acid
Dosage
- Dosage based on sensitivity of micro-organism and severity of infection
- Adult dosage: 250-500 mg every 6 hours
- Children dosage: varies based on age
- Infants dosage: varies based on age
- Best taken on empty stomach
